Jun 10, 2018

Join us as we chat with Todd Halterman. He is the founder of Pacific Crest Planning.  He began his career in financial services in the 1990s after seeing his two grandmothers struggle with the financial impact of losing their spouses in retirement.

Todd grew up in both the Tri-Cities and Yakima communities.  After graduating from Eisenhower High School in Yakima, he enlisted in the United States Navy.  He is a veteran of the First Persian Gulf War,  and was deployed to the Middle East and Asian on an aircraft carrier.    After his career in the Navy, Todd served the public as a paramedic and firefighter before losing his two grandfathers in the same year.  After losing his grandfathers and assisting his two grandmothers with their deceased spouses’ estates, Todd felt the financial services industry was too complicated, complex, and frustrating to navigate for the average person.  This lead to his decision to leave his career as a firefighter and paramedic and join the financial services industry with a mission to educate the public to help them simplify and be more successful in their financial lives.

Prior to starting Pacific Crest Planning, Todd served as the regional manager for Country Financial.  He was responsible for recruiting and training new financial and insurance agents and managed multiple offices in multiple locations throughout Eastern Washington.

As Todd’s career as a financial advisor matures, he continues to work with a core group of clients that is very special to him.  Over the last few years, he has transitioned his career to focus more and more on his ultimate passion of philanthropy and education.  Todd has served on the board of many non-profit organizations and has a strong desire to assist non-profit organizations fulfil their important philanthropic missions to make an important impact in the world.

Todd heads up The Prosperity Initiative, Pacific Crest Planning’s philanthropic arm.  He works with charities and non-profit organizations locally and nationally to assist them in setting up systems for sustainable, consistent, and automated fundraising.   He helped organize the Crescent Moon Foundation’s donor advised trust fund, Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon’s charitable foundation, with the goal of allowing charities and non-profit entities of any size to have access to build their own perpetual endowment.

In addition to being an officially diagnosed “workaholic,” Todd is a dedicated father and family man to his son and daughter.  He enjoys the outdoors and spends time camping, boating, fishing, hunting, and an occasional round of golf.
